“We wanted to make sure we captured the courageously bold, the vintage, the old blue-blood strain, as well as the homey feeling that makes up a truly successful Swedish home” —Jenny Ljungberg
My incessant lust for travel has left me daydreaming about the perfect Fall escape. A day trip trip to the Hamptons this weekend made me realize that, although rumor has it that the Long Island’s East End essentially shuts down after Labor Day weekend, many establishments remain very much open. If anything, the quaint small towns are just as beautiful under the soft autumn light and changing leaves. Pumpkin patches pop up on every corner, the traffic is non-existent and the crowd is an older low-key bunch that seemingly live off trips to the farmer’s market, cable-knit bundled beach strolls and wine-infused home cooking.
Enter c/o the Maidstone hotel—one of the few hotels that remain open through Fall and Winter, and fittingly so. The heartwarming cozy scandinavian interiors are the perfect backdrop to a leisurely weekend escape—where my personal agenda would consist solely of snuggling up in a sea of Josef Frank textiles on a rainy day and flipping through the New York Times while sipping on loose leaf Darjeeling Royal. Anyone with me?
