Lodged in the gardens of Mecox in Southampton is a prefab home like no other. Clocking in at 480 square feet, the Cocoon Studio boasts floor to ceiling windows, luminous high gloss panelled walls, bleached gray floors and a double-sided gas fireplace.

The essential summer crash pad: that was stylist Sarah Storm’s inspiration behind the small space’s decor. “You come home from the beach, jump in the pool, and sit around in your bathing suit” she says “perhaps with a glass of Wölffer rosé in hand” (don’t mind if we do).

The home’s textures reflect that perfectly: summer seersucker dresses the bed, the seating is rattan and the palette is composed of pale, sun drenched, washed-out hues to echo the airiness of the design.

“The Cocoon9 concept functions particularly well as breezy guest quarters or a chic poolhouse”. With great market potential in the increasingly crowded Hamptons, lets just hope the town councils won’t crack down on that too.

So you're going to a 4th of July Beach BBQ... on @SavvyHome

If you ask me, there’s no better way to celebrate 4th of July (or any summer holiday for that matter) than with a few close friends on the beach with some seafood, endless supplies of rosé and a bond fire. So if those are your plans this 4th of July, grab a blanket, a bikini and an extra bottle of rosé—and hit the beach for some good old fun in the sun. Let’s hope it’s a sunny one this year!

Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch Is What you need for Entertaining

Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch Lettuceware Collection

“I called Dodie and asked her if she would be interested in collaborating with us. We were thrilled when she said yes.”

Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch Lettuceware Collection

A set of Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch canapé dishes showed up in my mailbox a few days ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. The traditional side of my heart is beating overtime for the classic American tableware reinvented for the modern gal. Did you know that before the lettuceware was widely adopted among the likes of Jackie Kennedy and CZ Guest, Dodie Thayer first cast these plates from real lettuce and cabbage leaves in her Palm Beach home? [insert heat-shaped eyes emoji]

I’ve been thinking about how I’d set a tablescape featuring these timeless lettuceware, but reimagined for the modern age… It would certainly involve some rattan, bamboo, shades of fresh mint and crisp white and a touch of black. Love the look? Click on each item below to shop.
