I’m all for bringing a bottle of wine at dinner—my mother always taught me never to show up empty handed. But since we bring wine at every dinner throughout the year, shouldn’t holiday dinners be extra special? Most hosts will go the extra mile to make a holiday dinner unforgettable, so it seems only fitting that we would follow suit with a great gift. Why not show up with a great bottle of olive oil, an ultra-luxe shower gel, or a great coffee table book? Here are a few of my favorite gifts for the host.

The Joy of Giving: with Alex from Bungalux!

Alex Brunkhorst is a powerhouse in the luxury real estate world. She has a fantastic eye for high-end products and a killer business sense. Alex is the founder of Bungalux, a web destination for all things having to do with high-end homes. Her blog is filled with inspiration and great guest editors such as Alex Von Furstenberg and Clare Vivier. I “met” Alex a few months back and we’ve been exchanging emails ever since. She is truly one of the sweetest person I’ve had the pleasure to interact with this year and I’m thrilled to have her on the blog today.

The Joy of Giving: with Sam of The Peak of Tres Chic!

I’m a huge fan of Sam‘s southern charm. Her gorgeous blog The Peak of Tres Chic is chock full of great interior design, travel and fashion tips and inspiration. Any girl who chooses shagreen wallpaper for bedroom walls and drinks spiked eggnog at Christmas is A-Ok in my books. This lovely Texan lady is incredibly entrepreneurial, witty and well traveled (she studied in Madrid and at Oxford in England)! She also has a gorgeous Australian boyfriend which says: lady’s got taste. I’m very honored to have her on the blog today.

The Joy of Giving: with Sarah of Chevrons & Stripes!

I met Sarah in New York last spring and immediately fell in love with her stylish yet down to earth personality. At the time, Sarah and I were both moving back to our respective hometowns to pursue some further studies, she at the New York School of Interior Design. I absolutely adore Sarah’s blog Chevrons & Stripes because she has an extraordinary eye for understated New York chic (with a dash of Hamptons charm). Her participation in The Joy of Giving comes at a great time as we’re in the middle of Hanukkah, which makes this the perfect day for a Jewish perspective on this festive season!
