As I mentioned yesterday, the arrival of Spring is giving me decorating fever. Embarrassingly enough, my office is filled with boxes from my move 3 months ago, and the decor is non-existent. A few days ago, I came up with a design plan. When I start a new design, I love to dream big and come up with the ultimate dream room (I could easily spend $30,000 on my office), and then work through substituting items that I can’t afford.
This is the plan I came up with for my office. I was inspired by the layout in this Carrier & Company design. I love the idea of a secretary (to be eventually adorned with an antique French chair) I started the room with this desk (fell in love with it in this home - I love the pull out shelves), a tan leather director’s chair, a cream sofa and bright rug to contrast the dark chair.
The best part about this design is that I feel that these pieces could transfer over to any new apartment easily. I may hold off on the grasscloth wallpaper in my current rental apartment, but if I start investing in some of the pieces now, I know that I can one day execute the full vision in my next place. What do you think?
