Remember my trip to Cabo? One of the things I love the most about traveling is meeting new people from around the world. We certainly got lucky in Cabo and made fast friends that we instantly clicked with— only a stone’s throw away in NYC. When summer kicked off we decided it was high time to make the trek down (not once but twice) to spend quality time with our favorite New Yorkers. I was so happy to celebrate Fourth of July with them despite the tropical storm that decided to hit the beach all day Friday. We made up for it the rest of the weekend with lounging sessions by the pool, leisurely lunches, trampoline sessions, tennis matches, frisbee and football games, Fourth of July parties, golf cart rides and a little beach time.
All in all, I spent only 24 hours in NYC— just enough to go check out the Lenox Hill Hospital Designer Showhouse where I was blown away by Neal Beckstedt‘s rooms. I mostly stuck to tried and trusted places within my quick stop in NYC, but I was happy to discover Baker & Co in the West Village where I ordered an affogato worth writing home about. I preferred spending time outdoors to shopping, but I did manage to snag a few key summer items: my beloved metallic sandals, a seersucker skirt, scalloped leather shorts and a white silk and leather sleeveless shirt. Check out my favorite New York City and Hamptons addresses in the Directory. I’m going back to the Hamptons at the end of the month, so stay tuned for a full Hamptons guide!
