Remember last Friday when I shared this memorable barn entry hall? Turns out I just had to do another post on it. Steven Gambrel is one of my all time favorite interior designers and this project is kind of blowing my mind. Let’s start with the fact that this former dairy barn is located on an equestrian estate in Middleburg, Virginia, and was virtually unused and abandoned until someone had the brilliant idea to turn it into a large entertaining space (!!??!). I’d gladly take this barn as my main home, let alone a seldom used entertaining space.
The entire space is done in an equestrian but elegant neutral country look. The pure genius of this space lies in the brightly painted barn doors and balustrades (and the use of one of my all time favorite pendants by Currey & Company). It truly takes a mastermind decorator like Gambrel to pull something like this off. Would you dare paint your doors in a bright color?
