“The House on Glover Street was a two year renovation project. Details were derived from local vernacular. The interiors are a collection of antiques found in European flea markets and in local shops over years of shopping expediting.”
I’ve got another country house for you today also set in Sag Harbor, New York. This one is designed Steven Gambrel, one of my favorite interior designers you may remember from this pretty bright barn. Let’s just say I know what I like and in the summer, I love to draw inspiration from Long Island summer homes. What first drew me to this house is the paint work: the lacquered beams (brilliant), the muddy shades of blue throughout and the colorful doors and window frames.
Just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, the best homes are decorated over years of diligent thrifting and collecting. This isn’t something that can be easily replicated. See the rest of the Steven Gambrel Sag Harbor house.
