The Weekender: Settling In

If you’ve noticed a bit of radio silence around here, it’s because I was busy moving! Quite unexpectedly, my old management company decided to sell my apartment (at an astronomical price no sane person would pay for a 280 sq. ft. studio—but that’s another story). Suddenly, all of my February weekends were spent looking at apartments—and I finally moved last week, before jetting off to a much-deserved ski vacation. I must have looked at dozens of apartments in the city—and saw nothing I liked… Until I found my new place—a short four blocks from my old place—and I am SO happy with it. It’s a tiny bit bigger than my old place, and a lot newer. Most importantly, it felt like home right away. The good news is: I finally shot my old place, right before moving out. I couldn’t leave my first New York apartment without freezing it in time. Stay tuned (for the home tour, and hopefully some more regular posting around here)!

Weekend Sales

Design Within Reach is having their semiannual sale. No better time to pull the trigger on a George Nelson pendant, a cute side table, or a Grasshopper floor lamp.

Get 20-30% off bedroom furniture at West Elm. My vote goes to this modern sleigh bed (or maybe this velvet number).

World Market if offering an extra 30% off with the code FRIENDS. Grab a bubble chandelier, a set of bud vases, or a Windsor bench for the entryway.
