This summer, I’m all about minimizing my weekends in the city. I’d rather be by a pool, a lake, a beach, on a tennis court or on a golf course. I’d rather be sipping rosé and eating lobster rolls. Sue me. So far, so good. The way my calendar looks right now, I may be able to get away with only 2-3 weekends in the city— just enough to explore the never-ending list of new restaurants and enjoy the festivals happening around town.
This week, I added the not-so-new-but-new-to-me Le Bremner restaurant to my list of favorites. Opened by celebrity chef Chuck Hughes, this little gem is like a beach bar in the heart of Old Montreal. We sat at the oyster bar, ate mouth-watering tuna sashimi with tahini, shrimp-and-lobster roll, and fried quail n’ ranch. An evening there is all I need to make believe that I’m sitting somewhere coastal. If you’re ever visiting Montreal, I urge you to try it. This weekend I’m off to spend some quality time with my family at the country house. I expect lots of golf, tennis and rosé. Have a good one!
