“I tend to treat decorating as I do other design problems, which is to say that I like to start with details and turn them into a theme to help inform the rest of the space.”
—Scott Richler, Gabriel Scott
Gabriel Kakon and I share more than just a first name and a hometown. Him and business partner Scott Richler have a keen eye for design and a business sense that quickly propelled them to the top of the world of furniture and lighting. With backgrounds in architecture, industrial and fashion design, these two brothers-in-law launched their contemporary line GABRIEL SCOTT in 2012, and opened their first showroom in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Since then, their pieces have been featured in countless interiors, from the windows of Bergdorf Goodman to high-end residential projects by designers like Amanda Nisbet and ASH NYC—and even in Sarah Jessica Parker’s old townhouse in Greenwich Village. The pair split their time between Montreal and New York, where they know all the best spots, without fail. You’ll want to know exactly where Gabriel eats and Scott shops. From Le Coucou to The Line—these two know where it’s at.
